Role Purpose:
The incumbent is responsible for acquiring profitable new business from vendors not currently supplied or supplied at a small share by Coats. Through structured prospecting and digital selling, the role focuses on identifying opportunities and securing sustainable growth.
Once relationships are established for a defined period, the incumbent will transition the vendor relationship to an Account Manager for long-term growth management.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Evaluate market landscape and identify priority target customers and new channels.
• Gather competitive intelligence and determine opportunity potential.
• Conduct active prospecting and acquire profitable new business.
• Analyse market trends and data to identify growth opportunities.
• Build strong professional networks including LinkedIn presence.
• Collaborate with Marketing & Technical teams for digital sales targeting.
• Develop marketing & technical presentations for prospect meetings.
• Create contact maps to improve prospect conversion rates.
People Development:
• Develop and coach the Business Development team aligned to Commercial Academy programmes.
• Build capability across GA, Technical Services, Customer Service and O2C teams.
• Encourage growth mindset and proactive performance enhancement.
• Drive engagement, accountability, and motivation within the team.
• Promote consistent sales capability development practices.
Education & Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Discipline or Equivalent
Experience:
Minimum 10 Years in Customer-Facing Industry (B2B Preferred)
Industry:
Apparel Environment Preferred
